Not strictly true Alf in my opinion. Cresswell, Jenkinson, Sakho and Kouyate are all upgrades on what we had last year.
We are in decline as far as the season goes partly because of the setup and partly because we are no longer a surprise package. Our midfield is still slow and without creativity. The presence of Carroll tends towards looking for his head as the easy option.

Spot on Edward B. There is always a time lag between the performances and the media / footballing world catching on.
We are in a slow descent. We are predictable once more and it is only the presence of Song that makes any difference to the team we had last year.

Noble has been below par lately but dropping him and Nolan starts is a fuckin joke captain wonderful will be the ruin of us.first four months of the season were tremendous with sakho and Valencia causing panic against other teams defences but with Carroll they know how we will attack,hope 2nd half of season does not collapse

If it was up to the walrus cunt manager; he'd still be playing every week with other 30-something past-it cunt injury-prone players like Fletcher...
I keep saying this but thank fuck the manager played little/no part in player recruitment last summer and we got Sheringham in to help our attacking side...

I was thinking earlier, if you were to make stats for players, in a Fifa/Champ manager style, what would Nolan's be?
With every other player it is clear where their strengths are. With Nolan, I really struggle.
I just don't know what kind of player he is.
He can't run or dribble. He has no pace. He can't beat people. He isn't skill full. He isn't very good technically. He's passing is below average.
He doesn't score anymore.
And he's played in midfield??

B6NY, we've won two league matches since mid December. They were against Leicester and Hull and both scorelines flattered us.
Even the FA cup match we won against Bristol City was jammy.

Downing had a poor game today but he's had a phenomenal season.
To even compare him with Nolan is laughable.
Amalfitano is a much better player coming off the bench. He hits the ground running when coming on instead of starting.

Eddie's talking about the changed tactics (that has been caused partly by this very decision - to start Nolan ) leading to the fact we are errrm what do we say? - going down the table & perhaps coming back to mid table mediocrity and all Euro aspirations (save for the FA Cup route) may be fading and dying as per usual.

Btw he wasn't the only awful one today, Creswell was dogshit as well. Downing didn't the get ball and Morgan wasn't at his best but still was the wrong one to come off.
